Eero Saarinen

The American architect and designer Eero SAARINEN was born in Finland in 1910.
The son of artist Louise Gesellius (sculpture, photography, architecture) and an architect father, his family emigrated to the United States in 1923 to settle in Michigan, near Detroit.
He studied architecture at Yale University from 1931 to 1934.
His buildings are marked by the influence of the international style: known for varying his style depending on the project, SAARINEN built buildings of very heterogeneous forms and functions.
Eero SAARINEN also designed the famous Tulip chair (and associated furniture), published by Knoll since 1956.
